Planets, The (1999)

Plot: Interesting narrative, excellent computer generated images (for its time), extensive interviews with numerous scientists (mostly Americans and Russians-thank goodness this documentary isn’t biased towards any country) and a memorable soundtrack combined to make compelling viewing for anyone interested in astronomy.

there has been many times when i feel lke i didn’t look my best and i was stuck meeting someone new.People are gonna judge you nstantly by7 how you look.I try to fix my self up real nice when meeting someone new cause if i don’t they will have a vison of me as an unattractve person when really if you just took the time to look nice they could see you way differently.The first impression usually sticks until you find the tme to change the impresson by seeing that person again and trying to look your best.We know in 2 seconds flat if we are attracted to someone but theres always a chance to try and look your best the next time and you may find great results and change the opinion of that person.So I don’t find that to be true.

Yup, I have found that to be true. I have very good instincts with judging others when we first meet, and while I give people the benefit of the doubt, I always keep the ones that rubbed me the wrong way on "probation". LoL And my friends have told me that my opinions on their friends has been accurate too, so I suppose that I DO have good first hunches.

Comebacks, The (2007)

Plot: Coach Fields is pathetic. He has the distinction of being the worst coach in the history of sports anyone can recall. A loser of enormous proportions, the incompetent and seemingly hopeless coach is convinced by fellow coach Freddie Wiseman to return to the field for one last shot. Assuring his long suffering wife that he will not ignore his family, Coach moves them to Plainfolk, Texas where he hopes to redeem himself and his reputation. Here he begins yet another attempt to improve his abysmal record - this time as the coach of the football team at Heartland State University. But he is saddled with a team of misfits - most of whom don’t know the difference between a line of scrimmage and a line at the cafeteria. Coach is in serious need of some real talent to beef up his line-up and finds his number one recruit on the university’s baseball diamond. The ever-so-handsome Lance Truman (Matthew Lawrence) brings with him a distinguished award winning career - albeit for the most dropped balls - as well as determination. Coach convinces Truman to join the team as quarterback, and the young athlete comes on board despite the objection of his father (Nick Searcy). Wearing jersey #1 is Trotter, the bling-wearing, girl magnet wide receiver who can actually catch and run with the ball, as long as his over-sized ego does not get in the way. The biggest bruiser of the team is Buddy Boy, but he turns out to be more warm and cuddly than the mean sonofabitch that Coach longs for. The rest of the team includes the upbeat and handsome, Aseel Tare, who is always ready for action despite an uncanny tendency for injury; tattooed and angry Jorge Juanson who has a chip on his shoulder, and the delusion of being from the barrio; Jizminder, a beautiful, British-Indian soccer player, who takes on the role of kicker and is the only female player on the otherwise all male squad; and lastly, is the runt of the group, Randy, who is always begging for a chance to play despite his minuscule stature, and lack of any discernible football skills…unless you count moxie. Serving as Coach’s right hand man is IPod, although he is often misunderstood, the good-hearted, music listening IPod keeps the team smiling. Although the team and townsfolk are leery of the newcomer’s approach, the Coach uses his unorthodox methods to whip this group of rag-tags into shape - both on and off the field. While the audience follows their winding road to the playoffs, the film pokes fun at the cliches and conventions of other sports flicks. And the team does make progress, so much so that they actually make it to the South-Southwest Conference Championship at the 2nd Annual Toilet Bowl. Facing their fiercest opponents yet and yearning to win the big game, The Comebacks face off with the Lone Star State Unbeatables. And as every great sports team has always done, The Comebacks use ingenuity and unorthodox measures in the final showdown where the best team wins.

What to get my nose pierced?
Okay so I want to get my nose pierced(just a stud) but my mom says no. I’ve been talking and bribing her for ever!! i told her that if she loved me she would let me get one. But she just smiles. then i asked her if i got straight A’s could i get it done but she just laughed again. i need a good comeback or reason for her to say yes.

Is owning a hand gun a sign of cowardliness and or paranoia?
Lots of answers will say something stupid like "From my cold dead hands" but the truth is they would just hand them over. They might complain some but they’d hand them over. It is my belief that Americans are cowardly, hence stockpiling weapons in the first place. They are so paranoid they even have constant conversations about the government taking their guns when there’s no plans at all for that to happen.
In the rest of the world we have no such desire to arm the civilian population, (that would be insane), and yet we are not afraid. Does that not mean Americans are paranoid? I mean, the rest of us certainly aren’t all a bunch of action heroes and we do fine. No tyranny’s in the UK or Aus last time I checked. Why?
Having during the 1970s/80s lived and worked alongside the public authorities in the United States, I’m with Jenny on this one. However, the question of cowardliness or paranoia is relevant given the fairly easy way gun permits are available in some states. There is a certain ’street fear’ in many cities and smaller towns. I would say this is an indication of paranoia. Cowardliness is a slightly different matter. It could be equated with what appeared within rural communities, during the time I was there, to be ‘The Thing’ to possess. To be without seemed to be seen as more than a touch unmanly. It is possible one could be pressurised into gun ownership on the grounds of being without was not the norm and therefore unacceptable within that community. Conforming due to this concern could very likely to indicate a degree of cowardice.

I admire the Swiss model.
Every able-bodied adult serves for a time in the military, and then for life in the reserve force. They all have automatic weapons, and they train in the defense of their own areas for a couple of weeks every summer. The Swiss never train to invade other nations (though they once invaded Liechtenstein by accident in the fog), but any nation or group of nations that to invade Switzerland would find itself in trouble pretty rapidly.

Havig an abortion for selfish reasons?
First up I only want to hear from people in a similar predicament-haters will be ignored.
My friend is happily married with a 8 month old daughter and she just found out she is pregnant again. Although they were looking forward to trying again at the end of this year-now is the wrong time. She is a highly proffessioal athlete already signed up to travel internationally this year, she was binge-drinking and chain smoking during XMAS and had a rhioplasty a month ago and therefore had general anesthetic followed by weeks of antibiotics (which state do NOT get pregnant) and severe pain-killers. Needless to say she doesn’t want this baby but only because of the pregnancy issue (she also got Ges Diabetes during her last) so adoption is not on option. Either way she feels guilty in terminating or going through with it due to the damage she may have already done.
Has anyone else ever been in this situation and had an abortion-not because of rape or incest or teen pregnancy…but simply because the timing was wrong? And if so, are you okay with it? She’s a very sensitive and strong person and I know she’d handle it either way but her gut feeling is telling her no and although I am also pro-choice I just don’t know how to advise her.
I will also add then when she got pregnant she was on the pill and using a condom and had only finished breastfeeding a week before because of the surgery.
Poor girl, that’s quite a predicament to be in, not least because she was being so careful.
I haven’t had an abortion but thought I’d add my 2 cents worth  I don’t really know that you can advise her much more than you are already doing. Perhaps she should contact a doctor to get an accurate opinion of the risks involved in continuing with the pregnancy, given the drugs she’s taken. Depending on how far along she is, they may possibly be able to run some tests or do an ultrasound to see if they can detect any damage early. There’s every possibility that she’ll end up with a miscarriage if the drugs are that dangerous to pregnancy anyway.
So I’m sorry not to be more help, but I can’t help feeling only a medical professional will really be able to help her come to an informed decision. Good luck to both of you.

sh*t this must be hard on her. the potential of her health issues causing damage to the child is too great to ignore though. if it was just because of her athletic career than i’d say no don’t get the abortion but with the complications of the medication then if she can’t handle raising a child with possible defects, she should have an abortion. there is no reason to bring a sick child into the mother’s world if the mother cannot look after it. the best decision in that case is to abort the child.

very tough situation. I have a good friend who had an abortion because the timing was not right. I am pro choice and feel if you dont want it thats fine. It has been about 9 years since she had her abortion and she has come to regret it. We walk and she brings it up weekly what if….. She even mentioned she should have given it a chance and given it up for adoption. But it is hard being an athlete and having this situation. I was a professional athlete myself and had a baby 5 months ago and boy is my body a wreck. I can barely run without pain. Whatever happens good luck and remember everything happens for a reason.

I’d say to get the abortion because the baby is probably damaged by all that stuff she did while in the early part of the pregnancy. But she has to do what her gut tells her is best. I personally wouldn’t get an abortion just based on timing. There’d have to be a really good reason for me to get an abortion but that’s just me.

If you tells them you have no job, no money and no support they will likely have you pay the minimum for the procedure and get donations to cover the rest. 1-800-230-PLAN (1-800-230-7526) to find the Planned Parenthood clinic nearest you. If you are underage it will mostly likely be free and it’s always confidential.
You have the choice between the pill (which can be taken up to 11weeks, at home or at a friends house) or the vacuum method (in clinic procedure). Personally I used the pill method so I could be at home with my husband but some women want to have the surgical, so it’s done and over with when they leave the clinic.
You will be financially screened - usually this goes on the honor system, weight/height taken, blood pressure checked, pricked -fingertip- to check for rH factor and anemia, you will receive an ultrasound or sonogram to determine gestational age. You may be asked if you want to view the image, this is up to you. You will receive antibiotics, anti-nausea tabs and pain meds. Take them ALL. You must finish at the very least your course of antibiotics. Follow all aftercare instructions and go back to your after care appt. This last step is vital, you must go back for your aftercare appt! Abortion begins a new menstrual cycle. Superman II: Director’s cut (2004)

Plot: This time, the Man of Steel has his hands full with a trio of super-powered villains who escape from their Phantom Zone prison (remember the weird flying diamond-shaped mirror that scooped them up from the planet Krypton?) and land on Earth, where all three have powers to rival Superman’s own. How does it all come out? With a fabulous duel above the streets of Metropolis, and a startling plot twist that neatly ties in Superman’s explosive past. Arch-criminal Lex Luthor plays both ends gleefully against the middle in hopes of a modest reward: Australia.

Which version of SUPERMAN II did you like the best?
A little background into the making of Superman: The Movie & Superman II….
When making Superman: The Movie, director Richard Donner was also directing Superman II at the exact same time. However, midway through the long troublesome production, the decision was made by all involved to halt further production on II in order to complete Superman: The Movie for the Christmas 1979 release date.
After the movie was hailed as a huge success, the producers then decided, after many of the arguments and being frustrated with director Donner over much of the production problems while making Superman: The Movie, to change directors and complete Superman II with "Beatles" director Richard Lester at the helm.
With 80% of the movie already shot & edited (and with the departure of Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor & the decision not to use any footage of Marlon Brandon as Jor-El because they would have to pay royalties to the actor), director Richard Lester re-shot many key scenes (replacing much of Donner’s original footage and only keeping 26% of the Donner footage) and adding many of his own new scenes to complete Superman II.
It wasn’t until 2006 (due to many fan request over the years), Warner Bros. & Michael Thau worked hand in hand with Richard Donner in putting together - Superman II: The Richard Donner Director’s Cut.
Now, of the two very different versions of Superman II (The Lester version VS. The Donner version), which one did you like the best and why?

I’m thinking of buying a new Samsung Hype from Roger’s and I need to know if I could use it with my Fido plan. Do I have to pay some sort of unlocking fee, or will it be unlocked when I buy it? How does this work?
